Dr. John Davis is a psychologist who has worked in Southern Ontario since 1983, having graduated with a doctorate in clinical psychology from Wayne State University, and a residency in clinical psychology at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
John works primarily with adults, and is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario which has registered him with a scope of practice in clinical psychology, clinical neuropsychology, health psychology, rehabilitation psychology, and academic psychology. John is also a diplomate in cognitive and behavioral psychologies with the American Board of Professional Psychology. A special focus for John's professional activity is clinical neuropsychology and acquired brain injury rehabilitation. With these services, he integrates biofeedback and neurofeedback, which are scientifically-based training methods that help people to manage stress and self-regulate brain states that are related to goals in areas of thinking, emotion, health, and behavior. John serves on the Board of Directors of the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America, an organization which has awarded him an EEG biofeedback practice certificate.
John has been affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University for many years, and is also an Adjunct Faculty member at Brock University's Center for Applied Disability Studies. In addition to his university teaching, John has received several research grants and authored a number of scientific publications.
Currently, John is the Psychologist and Clinical Director of Brain Injury Community Re-Entry (Niagara), an organization that has provided services to adults with brain injury for over 20 years, and which is funded by Ontario's Ministry of Health. Originally from Niagara, John also offers private psychological services in Hamilton and the surrounding regions.
